
Egypt evaluates the prospect of increasing tourist arrivals from Europe and Asia

GhadaShalaby, Egypt’s deputy tourism minister held a discussion with representatives from Finland and Estonia regarding the prospect of increasing tourist arrivals from those countries.
Egypt’s tourism sector has already suffered from the pandemic and recently by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with tourists from those two countries representing about 40 percent of beach tourism in Egypt, prompting the country to look for new markets, especially from Europe and Asia.
Shalabyevaluated theprocedures taken by Egypt to restart tourist inflows, likeeasing entry by permitting 78 nationalities get an emergency tourist visa upon arrival or via electronic method.
Egyptian hotels are getting re-evaluated as per new classification criteria to make sure that they qualify for their classification for the services they provide.
