
“Follow the Sun” advertising campaign inaugurated by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities

The “Follow the Sun” advertising campaign wasinaugurated by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and was represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board in mid-March. It was named as the top tourism advertisement for May this year in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as per the global AdColony platform, which is one of the largest promotion networks on various mobile applications.
“Follow the Sun” is an electronic promotion launched by the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry in the month of March on the popular TV channel CNN and also on popular social networking sites like Facebook, Snapchat,YouTube and TikTok for promoting well-known Egyptian tourist destinations.
This campaign aimsto target the US, the UK, France,Germany, and Italy. It is a part of the carrying out of the media policy to encourage tourism in Egypt, which targets to focus on the Egyptian tourist attractions and its diverse and exclusive tourist and archaeological wonders.
Amr Al-Kady, the CEO of ETPB, said that this campaign attained great success and extraordinary numbers on the AdColony platform. He said that the campaign reached an excess of 6.5 million users of the application, and accomplishedalmost 5.2 million total views.
The campaign movie reached full viewership rates to the end of around 95%. The normal rate of full views worldwide is 80%, and the communication rate with the campaign touched 22%. The global average for the communication rate is 10%.
