Hong Kong eases strict COVID-19 restrictions from April

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has announced a recovery plan that features Hong Kong’s exciting developments and new experiences. This plan is aiming to create a positive ambience and make Hong Kong a destination to remember for global tourists when travel restarts.

The fifth wave of the pandemic is dipping gradually. Hong Kong’s daily life and economic activities are slowly getting back to normal, allowing for large-scale events and welcoming back visitors.

With the theme, “Together Towards New Horizons”, Tourism Update 2022 witnessed 3,200 trade representatives from travel agencies, attractions, hotels, airlines, retailers, restaurants, and meeting and exhibition planners from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas markets. The HKTB threw light on the latest tourism trends and its schedule of work for the coming year.

HKTB Chairman Dr. Y K Pang spoke about Hong Kong’s return to regularity.

All through the pandemic, Hong Kong never stopped building and improving its tourism infrastructure. Shortly in summer, there will be the grand opening of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, and the third runway at Hong Kong International Airport is expected to become operational in the next couple of years. With these new infrastructure developments and the assistance of the Central and Hong Kong SAR Governments, Hong Kong stands strong and can march toward new horizons with poise!

When social distancing measures would be eased further, the HKTB will organize more world-class events in phases, including the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival like as the Hong Kong Sevens.
