The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Kenya, is finding out new techniques to do up and boost tourism opportunities in many of the National Parks and Game Reserves to draw greater number of local visitors and foreign tourists.

Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Najib Balala, while sharing when his team along with him had hiked Mt. Longonot National Park in Naivasha on Saturday, he explained that Mt Longonot has immense unexplored potential when it comes to tourism, which so far has not been made use of to encourage locals as well as foreign nationals and perk up tourism growth in the park.

Balala said that here, there are plenty of sites related to camping and picnic which have not been made use in the best way possible, mentioning that in Cape town, we can see zip liners, eateries and cable car facilities. He also said that if done here, would successfully draw more tourists to the park.

He also disclosed that their hike to Mt Longonot was actually intended to hike Mount Kenya the very next Friday. This initiative is part of the events to raise funds that would help in overhauling the Mt. Kenya National Park. He also said that the park has high potential which has remained unexploited so far.
