Paithan tourism to get a facelift

Paithan is located on the banks of Godavari River, 56 kms from Aurangabad district in Maharashtra. There are many proposals for giving tourism at Paithan a makeover. Many tourist attractions, in and around Paithan, need to be boosted. SantDnyaneshwar Garden is one such attraction that needs a facelift.

A major irrigation site in Jayakwadiis part of this tourism boost drive. The Jayakwadi reservoir is a declared bird sanctuary and is home to about 234 species of resident and migratory birds. From 1986, it is an official sanctuary for birds. Any work on or near the site will create a major problem for the bird sanctuary.Any man-made activity in and around the bird sanctuary needs to be approved from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

While the future of water tourism at Jayakwadiseemsundefined, the focus can be shifted to other unexplored areas in Paithan. Aurangabad, although not major tourist destination as of now, but it has the prospective to become one of the best spiritual destinations for the spiritually motivated travelers.

Paithan is popular for its Paithanisarees, and is an important pilgrimage site for Digambar Jains and Sufi saints, housing many important temples. There are many unexplored places in and around Paithan and Aurangabad district.
