
Thailand dismisses mandatory compulsory polymerase chain reaction test for travelers

Thailand has finalized to dismiss the compulsory polymerase chain reaction test for travelers who would be visiting Thailand from May 1 for reviving the pandemic-stricken tourism industry.
Relaxing of travel restrictions is expected to increase Indian tourists, which comprise one of the biggest markets for the Thai travel and tourism industry. In 2019, Thailand witnessed two million visitors from India,fetching $2.5 billion in revenue. This year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is hoping to see 500,000 Indians.
Thailand has launched a campaign known as, ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022: Amazing New Chapters,’which will focus on special interest groups with high spending.
CholadaSiddhivarn, the director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Mumbai office, said that Thailand’s is aiming to rebuild the Indian market focusing on weddings and honeymoons, golf, millennials and luxury travelers.
The Thai tourism authority will also take part in India’s largest tourism promotion event known as the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange in May.AT is also organizing an Amazing Thailand Wedding Expo for the first time in Mumbai and New Delhi in May.
